Chromosome survey sequences for bread wheat cv Chinese Spring have been generated by the International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium. Paired end Illumina sequence was generated for flow-sorted chromosome arms which were individually assembled using ABySS (k=71). The Genome Analysis Centre has provided assemblies of these survey sequences with ~10 million scaffolds and a contig N50 of 2.4kb. The scaffolds assembled for each arm are available for download as gzipped fasta files. Reads are available from the SRA study: ERP003210 By downloading the survey sequence assemblies, you agree to respect the right of the IWGSC to publish the first global analyses including: Whole chromosome or whole genome level analyses on genes, gene families, repetitive sequences; and Comparative analyses with other organisms. These restrictions will be lifted on the publication of the whole genome description or the expiration of a 12-month period after public release of the first assembly and draft annotation, whichever comes first. During this time, scientists are requested to contact the IWGSC about their intentions for whole genome or chromosome scale analyses and any potential collaboration. If these data are used for publication, the following acknowledgment should be included: "These sequence data were produced by the International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium." We request that you notify the IWGSC upon publication to help them to measure the impact of this resource.
